So... sorry about the weird face, I look like I just got dental work done.
everything hand me downed except my favorite scarf and lovely legwarmers
I seriously wear this scarf nearly everyday. Sometimes I grab it then I look at my other scarfs, and feel bad for them just hanging there day after day, so I put it back and give someone else a chance, but only out of pity. The only problem is Anthony likes pulling the yard and making it all out of shape so throughout the day, I have to take it off and try to pull everything back into the right place. But luckily, the big weave makes it pretty easy to do. So good work Col, I think this arm knitting hobby is keeper!!
My 2014 Decluttering Challenge
I am so excited, I have been decluttering like crazy, well sort of. The goal is getting 2014 things out of my house by the end of the year. I've been keeping a tally and so far I'm at like 150. I love the idea of minimalism. When Peter and I first got married, we has so little and I felt so content, but over the last 5 years we've accumulated so much, I feel so cluttered and unorganized because of it both my house and my brain, and our attic is full too.
The problem is I hold on to way to much for no reason or for the "what if". But the Lord always provides what we need, I realized that holding on to everything, is operating as an orphan. So, I started with obvious areas and am trying to do a little at a time (which is all I can do with the kids and other responsibilities).
The questions I'm asking myself:
Do I use this?
Have I used this in the past year?
Do I need this?
Do I love this?
Is it beautiful?
Is it meaningful?
I'm trying to pass along nice things or cute clothes/kids clothes to others, then donate anything useable, and only throw away as little stuff as possilbe, to stay as "green" as I can. We did a big Goodwill drop off today, woohoo, feeling free! AND you'd be so proud, I successfully resisted going in to get more stuff, haha.
Aww! So glad you like the scarf. It looks so adorable on you! I love how you are decluttering. That's such a great idea. I did a lot of that with my move. I want to do more though. It's funny because I was going to bring back some clothes I don't wear anymore but that I convince myself I do wear lol. So let me know if you want to see any? Otherwise I will keep them far away from your house;) xo
ReplyDeleteSo although I'm de-cluttering, I'd be more then happy to look through your clothes, most of the current pieces from my wardrobe that I wear and love are from you and meag :)
