This Sunday we went to Piney Run Park after mass. There was so much beauty all around us. God is such a great artist! :)

Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Yesterday I found The Byrds Greatest Hits album for $1 at a used bookstore. I listened to the song Turn, Turn, Turn which references Ecclesiastes. Then today I was reading in my discernment book by Henri Nouwen about knowing the time to act, wait and be led. It got me thinking about what season I am currently in.

I really feel like this is a time of building, laughing and silence. Paul and I are building our home together. We are learning about each other and how we like to do certain things. We need to be down in Chattanooga in order to do this especially because we were long distance for a year. We need to build our home together apart from the familiar of family and friends so that when we go back to MD we will have a strong foundation and really know who we are as a married couple.

Ever since our wedding day I just feel God's blessings in our everyday lives. It's such a joyful season. We laugh pretty much every day. I can't tell you how many times I've messed up meals lol. Instead of getting angry about things not going my way, it's better to laugh about it. Paul's actually helped me with this. As a side note, I'm actually a good cook;) Some of my cooking devices have failed me though. Like the pizza stone.

I've had much time for silence as of late as well and it's been so fruitful. I feel myself more aware of God's word and the words I speak to others. It's also helped to awaken the holy spirit more in my heart.

What seasons are you guys in?

An Andrew Wyeth Kind of Day

One of my favorite artists is Andrew Wyeth. I love the stark realism of  his paintings. He is able to find the beauty in the rawness of life. This inspires me especially when taking photographs. I always think of him this time of year. I found this book for $6 at a secondhand bookstore:)  Here are some of his paintings that caught my eye :)

I want to live here :)

Love these boots.

Cowboys and Indians

I love wearing dresses over leggings. Especially on a cold day like today.

This sweater added some new colors to the outfit.

I just love the bottome of this dress. So Native American-ish.

These boots always add a unique color to outfits.

I just got my book about Van Gogh from Amazon! I didn't realize how big this book was
until I tried to get it out of our tiny mailbox lol. I'm excited to read it.

Older yet Stylish

1. Sporty:
I realized if you want to go sportier you can still look stylish. I have my snow boots with a simple cream sweater and black leggings. The neutral colors help me look more my age. The ice blue scarf helps to add some subtle color to the entire look.

2. Plaid:
You can still wear plaid and look older. I paired one of my plaid shirts with a navy blue blazer. Then I wore straight let jeans with these cute vintage boots. I also added this cute bracelet to make the outfit dressier.

3. Fun Colors:
You can still wear fun colors without looking young. As long as you don't have too many of them in one look. I paired this adorable purple lace skirt with a black shirt, leggins and riding boots. I also added some 1920's looking black earrings.

Gatlinburg, TN

We we went to Gatlinburg, TN. The actual town of Gatlinburg is super touristy and odd lol. I don't even know how to explain it. We stayed up aways from town because we would rather be away from people and in nature :)

This was our view.

This is what the lodge looked like. We were the top floor right in the middle.

The reflection in the windows were just as amazing as the real view.

Super cool rug in our room.  I loved it.

We had wine and watched the sunset from a cute little gazebo form the property.

There was  a fire pit on the gazebo.

So pretty.

We had a fireplace in our room.

Our room was amazing. The prices were really great too. We were trying to think of ways to get ya'll to come down with us sometime :)
