Neutral Kind of Saturday

So it's about time I add something to our blog :) All of your outfits are adorable BTW!

Some days I am drawn to certain color palettes and today I seem to be into natural, neutral colors. The colors usually seem to fit the mood I'm in. Today I'm feeling a little under the weather, as well as tired from all the holiday fun I've been having. I also miss Danny who is away being manly and hunting in the middle of nowhere :( So I decided to put this outfit on today.
My sweater is from 2nd Avenue. It is actually from Jcrew! SCORE! It was only $8.50! I've finally pulled out all my winter clothes and forgot I owned this hat. I used to wear it all the time. I got this a couple of years back at forever21. I just love the color gray.
These cool boots are also from 2nd Avenue. Colleen found them a couple of weeks ago for me!
Of course I went to 2nd avenue today and found these adorable espresso cups for .60 cents.  I thought it was funny how the cups I bought were also part of my natural color palette that I've been attracted to today:) I think it's time I go make some espresso to wake me up! Then maybe I'll be into brighter colors when I'm finished! ;)
Do you girls ever have certain color days? Or is this just a Meagism?

We're On Our Way:)

                  (I feel so cozy lol)

(I have my Swedish rain boots on)

(Paul's in his zone. Don't think we'll be chatting for awhile;)

(Paul gave me four of these for our trip. I'm planning to eat one every 2 1/2 hours to make the trip go faster.)

It's a rather wet drive back to MD. It's great for napping though. I really want spaghetti right now. It will probably be awhile before we stop for food. Usually we only make one stop the entire trip. I've made it  9 hours before without a pitstop. It's rather nice being low maintenance. I ate a ton of pretzels before we started our journey so I wouldn't have to pee. I'm such a good wife lol;)

Godmother outfit

This Friday, Peter and I became godparents to two little boys Nicolas and Daniel. It was cool to have a double baptism we jokingly call them our godtwins, haha. This is what I wore... since it was a Friday evening, I didn't want to be too dressy. So I thought this pencil skirt (from Meag) would do the trick. And paired with these fun tights (from Col) and this cute polka dot sleeveless button down, I just felt so fun and the least bit frumpy.

Cardi: h&m, necklace: ebay, the rest: handmedowns

This weekend was crazy because we had the baptism, then Peter had a retreat and working all day Saturday (mostly on his masters project) and then we had the DC retreat Sunday. I kind of remember that I used to love being busy, but now I just want to snuggle with a cozy blanket, drink tea and chat. Dream on momma... well after Peter finishes his project (yes, holding my breath until Dec 7th) I hope to have a little more of that. And we do have winter to look forward to! Including enjoying dairy!! Dairy party details tbd!

PS Peter had the computer all day yesterday to work on his project so I'm skipping my Tuesday tech fast this week... yes, I feel the need to justify, ha. See you girls on Thursday!

This the Season for Scarves

Today I was looking through all of my scarves.
I love how scarves can really make an outfit pop.
Plus they are super cozy. Here are some of my favorites:)

My Interpretation of Ally's Interpretation

I just loved that outfit inspiration you posted. So I did one tooooo :) Haha. We're like twins now;)

That's my kindergarten chair lol. I can still fit on it;)
Embracing the messy bun!
Here is a better shot of my bun lol.

Sunday

I made pumpkin bread! It was delish :)

We got a gift card to target and I used some of it for this adorable skirt.
The sad thing is, the zipper broke. It actually started breaking during mass lol.
Then it got stuck and I had to ask Paul to help me.

I just realize I like to wear a lot of red and blue outfits lol.

Rainy Fall Friday in The Noog

"Hey!"

I can't wait to hang up the map everyone signed at my wedding!
It's just resting on our couch for now. The colors look awesome:)

I love how bright our living room is even when it's rainy.

Sweater: H&M, Shirt: Thrifted, Pants: Stolen from Meag, Shoes: Thrifted

I've taken up knitting...with my arms. It's so awesome.
I'm planning to make all the girls in our family something
cute for Christmas :D I'm so excited!

Tuna Casserole

Last night I made one of my favorite dishes, Tuna Casserole!
Paul just loves it too. It's great for a cozy cold night. Have you ever made it before?

Amazingly Beautiful Fall Weather

Today is an amazingly beautiful day!

One thing I love (and hate) about fall is how when the sun is shining it gets so warm and glorious and when the sun hides it's almost as if we get a taste of winter... thus all the clothing confusion and tons of layers.

But on a day like today when a cardigan is all that is needed to keep you nice and warm--and a cup of tea ;)--I'm in heaven. We spent the morning outside having a "picnic" a.k.a. snacks on a blanket, rolling down our little hill, and pretending the side walk was a river of fire. And this is my job... I can be a bit mundane but it's pretty awesome.

cardi: h&m, dress worn as a top: f21, tights & necklace: target, skirt: HMD, shoes: thifted

I had fun with you girls this weekend. Although I was sad that I didn't get more time to talk. Weddings are so much fun, but often are hard to connect with people. I look forward to Thanksgiving with you Col. Maybe we could do a small hang out with just the 3 of us then (if there is time). Love you!

Embrace Messy Hair (or Life or Whatever)

So on Monday, when I wrote this draft, I was just laying around, Peter came home early from work because I had the most painful menstrual cramps, which I haven't had since before I was pregnant with Leyna. So this outfit wasn't from today, or Monday, but from last Friday. But I just haven't had a chance to post.

Here was my outfit inspiration:

Of course instead of being outside in the beauty of fall I was standing by a beautiful fall painting (close enough, haha).

sweater & lace tunic: thifted 2nd ave, boots HMD, scarf: charolette russe, legwarmers & tights: kolhs

When I do my hair in the messy bun, I always think of this this poster/motto... which I loooove. On Monday, I felt like I could insert "Life" for "Hair." Like it's good to have messy hair sometimes, I think it's also good to let the rest of life get messy sometimes and just embrace it. Perfectionism is gone on those days! But thankfully Peter did a great job taking care of everything (kids especially) while I was pretty much out of order.

Fringe Boots-Kohls

Paul was sweet and let me buy these because I've missed everyone, especially my twin;)  They were $50 which was a splurge for me.

I know I post a lot! I'm procrastinating;)
