Yesterday I wore my hair in the four little buns. When I took them out today this is what it looked like:D

Sweater Mixology

So I bought myself a new sweater from Ross that I loooove, its cozy and goes with everything. I even wore it with a dress last weekend.

On the blogs I love, my favorite fashion posts are the ones that work a certain number of pieces and come up with a bunch of outfits OR have one item and style it a bunch of different ways, like this and this. But, who really has time for all that, uhhh ok, so... me. Actually, no I don't, but basically it was just poor use of time... All the kids were being good so I couldn't resit. Plus, it's fun and creative to play dress-up occasionally and... may save time in the long run, I'll have a few outfits in my head for next time I go to the closet. 

Ok, basically I'm just justifying now.

Surprise Indoor Picnic Tonight

Meag and Danny made us a picnic basket filled with all sorts of goodies! I'm going to surprise Paul tonight with an indoor picnic...

 We will finish the evening by writing our goals for the New Year. 

Maybe we can even plan a little trip someplace new. I hear Asheville, NC is pretty.

Henry Nouwen talks about how there are surprises in each day. We left from Western, Md which meant we had to take different roads to get to TN for some of the trip. My surprise was spending 4 hours driving through beautiful West Virginia. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was great being able to  have some new scenery for our long drive.

New Years Eve

The drive up was rather pleasant. It didn't start snowing until we got to Cumberland.

This was my first time seeing snow this season.

We relaxed and played a lot of Wii! So much fun!

New Year Musings

This post got me thinking about the new year. They have a lot of good ideas... (like drink more water, I def need to do that...)

I love any moment in the year were I can reflect back and also look forward... Birthdays, Anniversaries, Advent, Lent, and most obviously New Years.

This outfit was for Church, not for New Years Eve, we stayed in, had wine and cookies, watched the Christmas Carol and got in bed before midnight :) It was nice.


I've come up with biblical characters that I want to role model based on bad habits I have...

Look to Mary (and Martha)... primacy on sitting at Jesus' feet, letting go of driveness, renewing my tech fast.

Look to Anna... valuing faithfulness, faith in the fruit of prayer, eyes open the the Holy Spirit's leadings all throughout my day, and valuing becoming old in the Lord (not just seeing my youth as my credibility)

Look to the Virgin Mary... for letting go of control, for submission for what the Lord asks of me, especially to the mundane in life and my vocation as wife and mother.

Look to Jesus... (of course for everything, but...) specifically learning from the way he discipled his apostles as I teach and disciple my little ones.


I know for me, I looove ideas and I love lists and plans, but often times don't follow through. So I thought If I had role biblical mentors that I could keep coming back to, to help me with various areas of my life, maybe (with the help of grace) I would actually follow through, change and grow.
