Easy Photo Album Idea

Here is an easy, cheap and creative way to make a photo album. Recently I found some old playbooks for $1 at a secondhand bookstore. I picked some with titles like, "The Rabbit Hole and Daytrips"  Each playbooks title create a theme for the album. So for example I will make a Dixie album with the Rabbit Hole playbook and an album of all of our adventures using the Daytrips book.  Here are the supplies you'll need.

Supplies
1. Play books or music books
2. Fun tape
3. Photos

Spring Feelings

I'm not sure about you, but I'm ready for spring! Its about 65 degrees today and rainy. It's easy to feel melancholy on a rainy day. That's why I've decided to wear pink lipstick with gingham plaid and overalls. It's amazing how dressing cute really helps you feel better;)

Camera Obscura

Today I turned by bedroom into a camera obscura (pinhole camera). Camera obscura means "darkened room."It was the first camera.  The camera obscura has been around for thousands of years. In the 17th and 18th centuries, artist like Vermeer and Jan van Eyck used them to create drawings. It was until the 1800's that an actual photograph was taken with these kinds of cameras.

If you're interested in turning a room into a camera obscura, here is what you'll need:
1. Aluminum foil
2. Tape
4. Scissors

All you have to do is tape over your windows with aluminum foil. Then cut a small hole towards the top. Then turn off your lights and see the image outside reflected upside down on your walls.

Warmer Weather Style

Lately it's been pretty warm down south. Definitely not warm enough for me to wear a sundress out in public. I was feeling inspired for spring though. That's why I put together this cute look. It's sort of 1960's meets the 1990's.

Sunday Inspirations

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt

I really try and make an effort to live in the moment, to appreciate the fleeting beauty that surrounds us every day and  then to thank God for the gift of it all. Here is what inspired me today.

Drinking warm coffee in my beautiful cup that reminds me of my NYE Deep Creek adventures with my bestfriend, Meag.

The intricate beauty of this bare tree framing the stormy sky. It almost looks like there is an owl in the tree. Makes me want to daydream...

A little "60 second excitement" that teaches me patience. My vintage Instagram ;)

Listening to Simon and Garfunkel's poetic lyrics while driving with the car windows down. The  warm damp air whipping through my wavy hair makes me feel alive and free.

This Polaroid that reminds me of what inspired me today :)

Advent Music

I'm probably one of the few crazies that wait until really close to Christmas day (until we decorate our tree, somewhere between the 20-24) to begin listening to Christmas music. But I have found, over the last 6 year, holding off in decorating, listening to Christmas music, and feasting, has helped us to enter more fully into the waiting of Advent and into the Christmas season, when it does (finally) come!

But when everyone else out there has their Christmas tunes on, it's easy for me to feel jealous ....UNLESS, I have some great Advent-y tracks to enjoy! So, without further ado, here are some good Advent songs to add to your pre-Christmas playlists.

O Come, O Come Emmanuel Sufjan Stevens

Come Thou Font Audrey Assad

God With Us All Sons and Daughters

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus Marian Grace

Light of the Word Matt Redman

You'll Come Hillsong
